1. What kind of training do you take to ensure my event is the best it can be?


2. How much do you charge? Why are your prices higher?

  • All pricing is listed on this site on our Pricing Page.  Steve Chacon Weddings has over 30 years of experance in weddings with over 1000 events performed. We offer a higher standard in talent and service. Steve and Liz are professional performing artist. Steve and Liz still take hands on performace training and attend multiple trade shows every year.

3. Is this your full-time job? or is this just a hobby you do for fun?

  • Steve Chacon weddings is a full time Bussness. Typically Sunday Thru Thursday we are either preparing for the next event or meeting new clients. On Fridays and Saturdays we are typically out of the office performing entertainment.

4. Is Steve Chacon Weddings an agency or a multi-operation that can have someone else perform my event? 

  • With Steve Chacon Weddings you are guaranteed to have Steve Chacon as your DJ and Master of Ceremonies with a back-up DJ working with Steve the day of your event.
  • For Wedding Ceremonies you are gareenteed to have Liz. 

5.  Do you have a detailed planner for my event?  

  • Things don’t just happen.  They are planned to happen that way.  With Steve Chacon Weddings we take the time to meet with our clients and plan to ensure a successful event. (Typically over 40 hours are spent planning your Event).

6. Are Music requests welcomed and encouraged?  Can I give you a list of songs that I want to be played?

  • Steve Chacon encourages a “Must playlist” and a “Do Not Playlist” from the client. 
  • We are more than happy to play your request.
  • You also have a 24/7 music library to choose from.

7. Are you licensed and insured?

  • Steve Chacon Weddings is a licensed business and carries a $2,000,000 General Liability Insurance Policy.

8. Do you rent or own the equipment for my event? Is it professional equipment that is clean in appearance?   

  • Steve Chacon Weddings takes great pride in it’s equipment. It is 100% owned by Steve Chacon. There is nothing borrowed or rented. This gives you the assurance that we understand our system very well, and that it is in tip-top condition. Steve Chacon uses all top of the line equipment. If you were to visit any major nightclub in the united states you would see the exact same set up as Steve Chacon Weddings uses.

9.  Will the DJ have backup equipment for my event? What happens if we have a blackout and lose all power?

  • With Steve Chacon Weddings all up-lighting and pin spot lighting is battery powered. We also carry a complete battery powered audio system with us…..Just in case….And yes we have performed at a reception with a full black out.

10.  Do you use a legally binding contract?  

  • Always have it in writing.  Our contract not only protects us but it protects you, the client, as well.  Without anything in writing your entertainment will not even have an obligation to show up.

11.  Can you marry us at our house or a special location? 

  • We can travel and perform a ceremony at your personal property or your desired location. Travel fees do apply for locations over 20 miles from 90745. Note some public locations could require a permit.

12.  Can you just sell me a marriage license? 

  • Yes! Just give us a call to set up a time and location for pick up.  

13.  What is a Confidential Marriage License?

  • A confidential marriage license requires no witnesses to sign it’s just the Officiant. The marriage license is recorded but is only accessible by the couple. No one else can go down to the county or do a record search and find that document. This type of license is used by high profile people and celebrities.

14.  What is the difference between a DJ and a VJ? 

  • A DJ plays sound/music only out of speakers
  • A VJ plays sound/music out of speakers and shows the video either from TVs or a Projection screen.

15. Can I really get married today? 

  • Yes, We can marry you right now, but subject to availability.
